Running Iperius Backup from the command line

Iperius Backup is portable software , which means that it can be used even without the need for installation, simply by running the Iperius.exe file.

Its portable nature makes Iperius an extremely flexible backup software, which can be easily integrated into various environments and with other tools. Despite its numerous features, Iperius is also very light (about 150 MB) and requires very few resources

To start a backup operation from the command line, simply run the Iperius file using this simple instruction:

Iperius.exe startbackup “BackupPosta” WCS

Only 3 parameters are needed:

  • startbackup
  • the name of the job you want to run (i.e. the name we gave to the backup operation)
  • WCS ( optional ) if you want to run it as a Service , then with specific credentials (set in the service options).

It is recommended to use double quotes, which are required if the job name contains spaces.

With this command line, we can start multiple Iperius backups at the same time, even in parallel, from other programs, scripts, .bat files or Windows scheduled tasks . This also allows you to include Iperius within other software, using it for backup operations that start directly from the main software menu.

For resellers, OEMs and ISVs, there are advantageous rebranding options available , allowing you to include powerful backup software within your solutions, customizing it with your own brand.
